This is a huge step up from a plastic bento style box. Only downside is it's a little heavy but that's to be expected and the silicone lid doesn't fit as good as I thought it wouldThis bento box is solid and a great size. I had some issues with it leaking in my lunch kit because I turned it on its side. The bento box is easy to clean and I love the color.I like the shape and size of the ceramic container. You can put a decent-sized lunch in there.I also like that it's not plastic for warming things in the microwave.The rubber lid and bottom cover do a good job of covering and protecting the container but it's not leak proof. Since I usually put the container in a lunch box I hardly ever use the bottom cover. I like the steam vent.I try to keep the lid and cover from getting any food on them (especially grease) and they are a bit hard to clean.I loved the idea and the color and design is great. It did leak a little so I can't just throw it in my bag, but if it's carefully placed somewhere then its amazing!This little bento box came in quickly and intact. The silicone sleeve really cushions the ceramic. A nice thing about this bento box is that everything is dishwasher safe, there are no plasticizers, microwave safe, and undeniably cool.Once you put the silicone sleeve on and off a few times, it becomes a quick and easy process. I've used plastic containers that you cant get the kid off of, but this is not a problem here. The sleeve has a little hole in the bottom so that it goes on and off without pressure building up or creating a vacuum. Once you put the lid on, you just roll the sleeve up over it to seal your food and prevent leaks.The box is a little heavy, and that is really the only negative I have found. When heating food in the microwave, you can still feel the heat through the silicone. The little vent works well, and seals well. It is as easy to clean as any bowl, unlike some of the newer rigid plastic boxes with lids. It is just as easy to use as any plastic box, but could potentially last a lifetime, whereas that plastic won't. And also unlike plastic, you can use cling film on the ceramic. Did I mention the cool factor? (maybe I am just a nerd)This ceramic bento bowl is perfect for carrying or storing food. The top fits easily and snugly, keeping odors in (and out) and preventing spillage. And it is so beautiful!
