I ordered this vest especially for its ability to carry but following the sizing chart exactly, the vest was a snug fit. I didn't have to suck in or force the zipper it fit without any of that nonsense, but after it was on it felt more like Under Armor body gear, just too snug. In fact, the sizing straps on the side were totally loose so it wasn't like I could open up the sizing to be more comfortable.So if your chest is 47-48 I would suggest you look to the XXL for a more accommodating fit. The quality of the vest is OUTSTANDING. Seriously, the color and texture of the vest are really very good. I just placed a new order for an XXL and sent a request to the seller for a return/refund on the XL I received today.
