Seems well built I don't intend to set it on fire or drown itThis product is very sturdy, but it catches dust and dirt quickly with the texture it has.I am using the Fire proof bag for my notary book,stamp and necessities for my notary business.I highly recommend this fire proof bag.This is a durable pouch, and you can tell it’s water resistant and fire resistant. However, that water resistance coating is odd. It makes the outside sticky.Another reviewer said that they put an entire ream of paper in theirs. I don't think mine was that large, but I had a ton of paperwork and it all fit in this pouch which seemed impossible, but it all did fit! Someone else mentioned that a fireman advised them to put very important papers in a fireproof pouch even inside of a fireproof safe. This is an easy and inexpensive step to take for added protection. No one ever thinks a disaster will happen to them, but never the less we must consider what we would do if the unthinkable did happen. I know if my house ever catches fire, I can forget about saving papers and concentrate on saving my dogs and myself. That gives me peace of mind and for less than $20, it's one of best values for peace of mind out there!I bought this with the intent of storing cash in it. As a result I actually bought 2 of them. One to throw in a fire as a test and one to use if it passed the test. I put the first one into a very small fire in my fire pit and and under 3 minutes all of the stitching burned away and the entire bag unraveled into pieces. The fake money turned to ash in a matter of minutes in a fairly boring little fire. The material itself seems to be Fireproof, but the stitching is definitely not, which means the entire bag is worthless. Even if the fire department was here in 3-5 minutes (unlikely in most places), it would be too late. I have done some upgrades on the bag that did the trick though. I restitched the bag with nomex/kevlar thread to start. Then I put a piece of 1/2" thick Kaowool Ceramic Fiber Insulation inside the bag. Given I plan on stashing a good bit of money in this I decided to go ahead and burn the new upgraded setupto see what would happen. I even threw some plastic in to see if it would melt. I built a bigger more substantial fire and threw it in. As expected the original threaded were gone in minutes but the nomex threads held. I left the bag in the fire for a good 15 minutes. The zipper was trashed as it didn't occur to me to upgrade that, but despite this failure the insulation 100% did the job. The plastic inside was soft but unmelted. The "money" was warm but not burnt and all way good. So really this bag's only purpose was the fireproof panels...everything else needed to be upgraded. However the final product I feel comfortable could survive a legit fire for 10-20 minutes. The items fit with plenty room to spare. I hope I don’t ever have to test the fire and water resistance, but I’m glad to know it’s there.I'm needed a HARD folder that would protect documents in backpack or suitcase. This one is soft fabric.It feels sticky.And I don't believe it's fire resistant, a zipper will melt quickly.Bag in description has two zipper compartments. I received a bag with only one zipper compartment. It appears from reading the reviews this has happened to several other people.Pouch large enough for multiple documents and valuables. Using in conjunction with a safe we purchased which was not rated for fire and water resistance.Pouch seems to be of excellent quality and workmanship.This is perfect to keep things safe!Perfect for my 'petty cash'.
